Established in November 2019, the goal of Smart Play OK is to unite the 33 tribes operating 143 gambling facilities across Oklahoma under a common responsible gambling platform.
Casino employees are often the first to notice signs of a gambling problem. Since 70% of helpline callers say they get the number directly from the casino, employee training and orientation is vitally important. This significantly increases the calls to the helpline, which directly accounts for a larger number of gamblers and their families gaining access to treatment.
The Oklahoma Association on Problem Gambling and Gaming helps Oklahoma tribes meet state compact requirements by providing casino employee training. OAPGG also creates posters, brochures, and booklets that address responsible gambling and provide help to those with a gambling problem.
